After several years of racing with only the 100% jib we decided that to be competitive in light winds we needed to add a 155% genoa to the Colgate 26.

It took a lot of time to work out all the details so I thought it would be beneficial to share my thoughts and details with other Colgate 26 owners.

At this point in time we have done ONLY 2 races (winds of 8 knots & 15 knots) with a genoa let me hasten to say I am not sure we have got everything right. So far so good but we need a lot more experience to be sure.

I will try to update this information as we have a chance to get more comfortable with this new sail. In the winds we have raced the handling of the sail has been quite challenging for both me & the (3 person) crew.
